MLK Poetry Writing Contest

MLK Poetry Writing Contest is for 8th-12th graders living in and/or attending school in Spartanburg County.  The purpose of this contest is to promote the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through research, writing and performance. Dr. King was not only one of the greatest leaders of our time but he was also one of our greatest writers and orators of our time. Through research students will gain a more in depth knowledge of Dr. King beyond the history books, his iconic I Have A Dream speech, and quotes. This contest will allow students to lift their words off the page and provide a springboard for students to find their own voice.  The submission process takes place in the Fall.  If you would like to be notified when the submission process is open, complete the contact form and you will be added to the email list or like/follow us on social media.
